I'm Salina. I'm a wife and mama surviving on coffee, wine, a whole lot of grace and quite a bit of hustle.
Story Time:
2019 was a major turning point in my career. I left a full-time, 9-5 job and decided to try my hand at freelancing instead. I wanted more control over my time and to see what other opportunities were out there.
I brushed up my portfolio, made connections, had several informative interviews with other creatives and within weeks of leaving the 9-5, I was working regular gigs. I was being booked often at the Columbia Sportswear digital studio for art direction, I landed a 6 month contract with Eddie Bauer helping to launch their children’s line, and I became the Creative Director for Nike’s Need It Now campaign for Finishline. I was making more money than I ever had and was happier in my career than I had been in a long time.
And I had my fourth baby. All in one year.
All that to say, I have been in the creative industry for 15+ years and have honed in on my skill set with this experience. I can lead end-to-end creative projects with impactful storytelling, from ideation to content creation following key brand strategies. I can handle multiple projects at once. I can lead a team and encourage them in their own successes. I have an elevated viewpoint on how something can look pretty and have a pleasant user experience. I’ve worked in-house, I’ve worked on the agency side, and I’ve experienced a successful freelance life. I bring a lot to the table.
I love what I do as an art + creative director and the collaborative nature of the job. My desire is to use my experience to continue to help create compelling content for growing brands.
