Finally Friday!

If you ever take a tour of our house, you will most likely find a number of mugs sitting around with cold coffee in them. I tend to pour myself a coffee in the morning and then run around and try and get myself together as well as complete a few chores. Thus leaving half finished coffees everywhere. I rarely sit down and actually enjoy an entire cup of coffee. Such a simple thing, but this weekend I am determined to do just that!

And while you're enjoying a little downtime of your own, take a look at a few things that inspired me throughout the week...

\\ After finally successfully getting my library card, I’ve realized that there are a LOT of crappy children’s books out there. We pick out about 5 or 6 books to bring home every week from our visit and maaayyybbe one of them turns out to be a good read. It’s so disappointing.

That being said, one of my favorite books to read to L.J. is “Press Here” by Herve Tullet. It’s just so simple and yet allows you to be interactive with your little reader. Tullet recently came out with a new book called “Mix It Up” and it’s currently in my amazon cart! I can’t wait to share this book with L.J.

\\ Check this out: SnapPower. A.MAZ.ING. I first saw them here on a review that the Small Fry blog gave. Very cool and I am anxious to order them for our home.

\\ I think I might try and make these this weekend for a nice Saturday morning breakfast: http://annapolisandcompany.com/2012/02/i-could-use-some-light-in-my-life/

\\ For my Portland friends, last weekend we went to The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island with some friends. Such a great afternoon and perfect for toddlers! We rode a little hayride to the pumpkin field where we dodged field mice and picked out our perfect jackolanterns, rode a ‘cow train’ and climbed piles of hay. I’m sure it gets super packed on the weekends, but we went later in the afternoon on Sunday and it was do-able. If anything, the kettle corn is totally worth the trip! http://www.thepumpkinpatch.com/index.php

\\ Have you heard of the blog Color Collective by Lauren Willhite? Lauren picks various images from the internet and other sources and pulls 5 colors from each image to make an inspiring color palate. She has some amazing collaborations, including J.Crew and Rebecca Minkoff. This is going to be my source for color choices as I decorate our new little apartment this winter.

\\ I’ve finally signed up for Instagram! Follow me here.

Enjoy your weekend!!
